Grow Bonsai 2.png

We began in February of 2016 with six children and a team of dedicated volunteers. Since then, we have grown, as has our need for space. We previously announced plans to build a new $1.4 million ministry center… and then the pandemic hit, pressing pause on the campaign as we were forced to rework Bonsai to comply with two years of online classes and government restrictions.

Fortunately, this also gave us time to learn and reconsider the most efficient way to move forward with Bonsai. For example, what would be our plan for growth after building this new ministry center? Would we then need to raise an additional $1.4 million every time we prepared to open a new site?

Connecting Bonsai families with local churches has always been a part of our DNA. If this has always been the plan, and if there are established churches that are interested in partnering with Bonsai in this way, why reinvent the wheel by continually building new facilities?

With this in mind, we began to consider our greatest needs: 1) a central “hub” for the current and any future Bonsai sites; 2) a play area for our original Bonsai site, as we are very limited in this area; 3) an area for our adolescent students; and 4) an area to house teams and interns that serve with us.

We have the opportunity to purchase a house two lots away from our original Bonsai site that fulfills all these needs and have negotiated a price for the purchase of that property. The total amount needed for the purchase is $180,000 USD. At present, we are very close to meeting that goal and we hope to finalize the sale by the end of 2023. Would you help us reach that goal?

We have raised $147,950 toward the purchase of land. We need $32,050 to reach our goal of $180,000.
